A Home Designed Around Warmth
This Rawang landed home was designed to feel warm and effortless from the moment the front door opens. Rather than chasing trends, the renovation focused on natural wood tones, soft layered lighting, and custom carpentry that works as hard as it looks. Every cabinet, switch, and light was planned as part of a single coordinated vision rather than a sequence of separate decisions.
Gamuda Garden @ Rawang is a warm contemporary landed home designed around natural wood tones, clean architectural lines, and functional everyday living. The project unifies four coordinated trades — plaster ceiling, electrical works, lighting planning, and custom carpentry — into a seamless whole, where every surface, cabinet, and light source feels intentionally placed. The design direction favours warmth over minimalism. Soft beige wall finishes, warm timber cabinetry in the living and dining areas, and layered ambient lighting create a home that feels serene during the day and intimate after dark. Custom built-in cabinetry runs throughout the ground floor, maximising storage and visual cohesion while keeping the floor plan open and breathable. The kitchen and dining zones feature full-height cabinetry with integrated handles, under-cabinet LED strips, and concealed electrical routing. Lighting was planned room by room — recessed warm-white downlights for general ambience, indirect cove lighting for ceiling wash, and focused task lighting in work zones. Every socket, switch, and light fixture position was coordinated with the cabinetry layout before walls were closed.
The material palette was kept intentionally restrained — warm timber, soft beige walls, and matte white surfaces — so the lighting could do the work of shaping the space. In the evening, the cove lights and under-cabinet LEDs create a soft, layered glow that makes every room feel calm and considered.

The main living and dining space combines full-height custom cabinetry in warm wood tones with recessed warm-white downlights. The TV feature wall integrates concealed storage and display shelving without visual clutter. Cove lighting washes the ceiling plane, adding depth without drawing attention to the light source itself.

Every cabinet door and drawer front was measured and fitted after walls were levelled. Consistent grain direction across adjacent doors, soft-close hinges, and integrated handles create cabinetry that feels architectural rather than assembled.

Details that make the difference.

Full-height timber cabinetry
Custom built-in cabinetry in warm wood tones runs throughout the ground floor. Finger-pull grooves replace visible handles for a clean, architectural appearance. Soft-close hinges and consistent grain direction across adjacent doors.
Carpentry Works

Layered ambient lighting
Recessed warm-white downlights at 3000K combined with indirect LED cove lighting and under-cabinet strips. Each zone is independently switchable, allowing the home to shift from bright daytime function to soft evening ambience.
Lighting Planning

Concealed electrical integration
All wiring runs through concealed conduits. Socket and switch positions were aligned with cabinetry and furniture layouts during the design phase — no visible trunking, no socket hidden behind a cabinet door.
Electrical Works

Clean plaster ceiling with cove detailing
Levelled plaster ceiling with continuous cove channels for indirect LED strips. The cove washes the ceiling with soft light, making the room feel taller and more open, especially in the evening.
Plaster Ceiling
How we coordinated this project.
Site Survey & Measurement
Full measured survey of the landed property, documenting existing conditions, wall levels, and electrical infrastructure before planning began.
Plaster Ceiling & Wall Preparation
Levelled all ceilings, formed cove channels for indirect lighting, repaired and skim-coated walls throughout the ground floor.
Electrical Rough-In & Wiring
Ran concealed conduits, positioned all sockets and switches against confirmed cabinetry drawings, upgraded distribution board for modern loads.
Custom Carpentry Fabrication & Installation
Fabricated and installed kitchen cabinetry, living area storage, TV feature wall, and bedroom wardrobes. All pieces measured after walls were confirmed true and wiring was closed.
Lighting Installation & Scene Tuning
Fitted recessed downlights, cove LED strips, and under-cabinet lighting. Walked through each zone at dusk to balance dimming levels and final ambience.

A home designed for everyday warmth, quiet evenings, and the way a space feels when the lights are low.
“The cove lights come on first — a soft wash across the ceiling. Then the downlights, dimmed to warm. You don't notice the lighting. You notice that the room feels good.”
The completed renovation balances warm materiality with soft layered lighting, creating a home that feels both refined and deeply comfortable — a space designed for living, not for showing.
